top hat, banknotes from the ScheinBar series
This piece references a historical photograph from 1923,
taken during the German hyperinflation.
It shows a man in a coat and hat,
draped head to toe in coins that had become worthless —
the original was already titled "The King of Inflation." This work translates that image into the present.
The banknotes used are custom designs from the "ScheinBar" series.
